Actually I didn't discuss why people had moved, only to where. Now I may be wrong about that - I haven't tracked the specific people who used to be here - but I'd be very surprised to discover anywhere other than the Geek where there's a comparable number of postings that could have been on rec.games.board, but aren't. For example (and this really is the first game I chose - one selected to be reasonably popular, but not a "top ten") there are about 100 postings on Traders of Genoa on the Geek (that excludes pictures, translations, mentions on Geeklists and other more permanent material). Probably difficult to collect such a statistic anywhere else, but that's rather a lot for just one game for rec.games.board even at its height.
What is more, I don't feel it is a bad thing.
Again, all I expressed a view on is the interface (which I stand by). On the wider question of content - it all depends what you want.
