Why would you expect to pay to be subjected to a sales pitch?

At least car salesmen don't make you pay for their irrelevent
credit/insurance pitches.

Sure they do, they just bury it in the cost of the car .. or did you think those car salesmen selling insurance (and failing to get any customers) are not getting paid each month anyway?
