I logged onto my Barclaycard account the other day to check the balance

lowlife had got hold of my details and applied for a Platinum Visa card.
But on closer inspection it looked like my old card had been replaced by
the second card.
And so it has, I now discover after emailing Barclaycard. Apparently they
reserve the right to replace something I was perfectly happy with any
time the urge takes them... without warning me.
Anyone else had this kind of unexpected surprise? I'm not exactly losing
out here (apart from having to update my details at places like Amazon &
Play whenever the new card arrives), but I have to admit to being rather
unchuffed... perhaps irrationally. I like the illusion that I'm in charge
of my credit card!
Still, I guess as they've never had any interest off me I probably don't
score many points on their loyalty-ometer. :-)

Lloyds TSB did something similar - my Trustcard VISA is now Trustcard
Mastercard. Change imposed mid-contract, and I had to phone to
activate new card, after being told my existing card would stop
working.
