My objection was to your claims that the information was not available

I have never seen this information available anywhere, I have never
seen any advertising campaign telling non tax payers that they do not
have to pay tax on bank deposits. Can you point to any ad campaigns or
web links that show this.

I gave those links, I also pointed out that just because you are
unaware does not mean everybody is and even pointed out that all the
elderly people I know in my family and locally were made aware of it.
What age are you?

then your claim that they should be going out
and giving the information to everybody when you yourself will not
even do it for those close to you.

What are you talking about, I am not prepared to give this information
to those close to me. You know for a fact that there are people close
to me in this situation.
Face up to reality, fact, the Government does
very nicely indeed out of taxing bank deposits of non tax payers. Is
that fact incorrect. A simple yes or no will suffice.
Your objection is noted by the way, not that I give a dam.

Well you are the one claiming there are thousands that the government
are ripping off. Clearly this would suggest that some of them must be
close to you.

What of your own family....if you think all these people are ignorant
of it, have you checked with them? If you will not take
responsibility for your own family, why should others bother?

Why on earth are you making this personal. For your information, my
father is a tax payer so tax on deposits doesn't apply, not that it
has anything to do with you.
I didn't make the statement about the numbers of people affected by
this, the BBC did.
I totally fail to understand why you do not consider that it is HMRC's
and the Governments responsibility to inform non taxpayers of their
rights and why you think that it is the relatives responsibilities.
What a bizarre world you live in where Government guidance and
lawmaking is passed on by word of mouth.
