Hello all,
I've filed tax returns in the past - usually around September -
because I used to sell shares, etc. I've not filed one for around 4
years though since I hadn't sold any shares for the last 6 years or
so.
As a higher rate tax payer, a colleague of mine recently got a tax
rebate as he was able to claim back on his works pension contributions
for the last 6 years.
I'd like to find out if I qualify for a similar rebate as we do a
similar job, earn a similar wage and are in the same works pension
scheme.
Do I need to fill in a tax return to do this or can I obtain another
form to claim this? (As I've filed a number of returns in the past but
not had a rebate I guess there's another form I've neglected to fill
in).
Also, if I do need to file a tax form, can I fill it in at any time of
the year?
Any advice appreciated!
I got a new 'short' tax return for 06/07 and have already filed it.
No idea if HMRC yet have the machinary to process it.
Rod.
