I just got a bill from my mobile phone company and it shows that the
previous month's payment was declined. I checked with my bank who show
that the direct debit was cancelled.

But, I didn't cancel it and my bank can't say for sure what happened but
it wasn't by me. It was actually shortly after I cancelled my contract but
there was still a final bill to pay.

Is this likely to show on my credit report?

I have had a few similar problems recently including one with O2. It would
appear to be a bank problem (in my case Abbey), rather than the originator
(I believe)

It might appear on your credit report, but as a one off failure no one would
be alarmed by it.
