In view of Robert's comments about threads I would be interested in the views of the group on the following.

There will always be some detrimental effect - if only from the disturbance to the ground vegetation/fauna from the necessary road-building and foundations. But once up and running, provided, and it is a very important provision, it has been correctly sited, then there should be no further detrimental effect, in the sense of measurable continuing damage to a population(s).

There I have started a thread and as Angus has promised to not reply to me he should make no contribution to this thread :-)

That was more or less my feelings Malcolm.

However it isn't a subject I could claim to know a lot about and every wind farm I have ever heard of has inevitably been opposed often claiming environmental damage as the reason.
