At least I live within twenty miles from where I was born. Do you?

No, and nor do the majority of the people living here.

So they're using houses that could be used by locals.

Yes, I thought you would say something like that. But you're wrong,
Angus, unsurprisingly.

Why?

The reason you are wrong is because you are making a false assumption.

What false assumption?

The false assumption that you are making :-)

Why is it a false assumption?

Because it is. Work it out for yourself. Read what you wrote and read
what I replied. Then think about it.

I have and it is significant that you can't or won't give a reason why
you think it's a false assumption.

No, it isn't significant. I am merely waiting to see if you can work it
out for yourself.

The reason I used the word "unsurprisingly" is that this is par for your
course.

In what way?

There's only one way it can be par for your course, which is that it
fits with your usual behaviour.

Which is to condemn fake conservationists and those who support them.

Which is, unsurprisingly, based on a false assumption, not to mention
prejudice, a wilful ignoring of facts and a closed mind.

What false assumption?

What prejudice?

What facts are being ignored?

I see you're back into abuse.

Oh for heaven's sake!

<Snip your usual rant>

I'm not "back into abuse", I'm pointing out the state that you have got
yourself into.

It is abusive to say someone has a closed mind especially when you
can't or won't say why you think I am making a false assumption.

To say you are making a false assumption is certainly not abusive, it is
stating a fact.

No it's not, it's only your opinion.

n this occasion you are not in possession of a
particular fact, though I think you ought to be able to work it out, and
so you have made an assumption about people on Islay which is a false
one.

What particular fact am I not in possession of?

You cannot possibly deny that you are prejudiced. You have made all
sorts of (abusive) remarks about the fact that I live on Islay, which
are based on prejudice against me, and, indeed, against remote
communities that have to rely on the air ambulance (remember?). You are
prejudiced against conservation organisations. It's not a term of abuse,
it is a fact.

I am not prejudiced against conservation organisations, I oppose those
who say they are but indulge in and encourage environmentally damaging
activities.

In environmental terms it appears you are willing to ignore the damage
you and other "white settlers" do by choosing to live in areas that
require substantially more servicing that on the mainland.

You choose, therefore it is wilful, to ignore facts which you have been
told about conservation management.

What facts? I don't think you know what facts are.

Can I describe you, unabusively, as a very sensitive little flower if
you think that I have just subjected you to abuse? :-))

That' abusive.

And talking of prejudice , remember this?

Internet posting to Malcolm Kane of Penrith from Dr Malcolm A Ogilvie

?Malcolm, it must be what a teacher feels like after trying to drum
something into the head of the dullard who is going to leave school
with a single 'O' grade. There's only so much that someone so
intellectually challenged can understand. The problem will come in
later life, when an inability to grasp concepts, not to mention be
able to understand the meanings of words, will seriously let them
down, to the point when, how ever often they are told something, they
merely repeat, as a rote, statements and claims which they think are
very telling but, in fact, were meaningless or just plain wrong the
first time, and continue to be so regardless of how many times they
are repeated. The situation will be even worse if, during their lives,
they have gained absolutely no personal knowledge of the subjects
about which they spout and thus are completely unable to comprehend
anyone who points out that their ignorance is letting them down.?

Comment: A nasty prejudiced and unwarranted attack on kids
leaving school with one O Grade.

All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
