It's a *very* serious problem.

RUDDY DUCK
THE ruddy duck, native to the Americas, became a menace after escaping
from
bird collections in England and settling in Fife, Tayside and the
Lothians.
They wipe out native ducks through inter-breeding and competition for
food."

A complete and utter distortion and lie!

Not at all. It is missing two words and the last three are not proven.
The
rest is true.

It's a native of the Americas. - True.
It escaped from bird collections in England. - True.
It has settled in Fife, Tayside and the Lothians. - True.
They wipe out native ducks through inter-breeding. - True (1).
And through competition for food. - Not proven.

(1) That should have read "native ducks in Spain".

That's actually not bad for a newspaper. After all, it is well known
that
if one reads something in a newspaper about which you are knowledgeable,
you will find inaccuracies. The above paragraph will have been pared
down
by a journalist from whatever information the newspaper was provided
with
from the Scottish Executive plus perhaps some hasty googling.

So perhaps 7/10 for effort, but certainly *not* "complete distortion and
lie".

And there is no scientific evidence that equate to any of the UK Ruddy
duck
population ever interbreeding with the Spanish WHDs'

Balderdash. You are obviously incapable of reading and/or comprehending
scientific evidence. Where, for example, did the many hybrids that the
Spanish have shot come from?

Fraqnce, Germany, Spain, Portugal etc! Probably from wild stock that
originated from conservationists private collections!

The birds in France, Spain, Portugal, etc., all originated from the
escapes in England.

That's an out and out lie. There is NO PROOF that UK ducks have ever
been found in Spain. As you are well aware.

There is no "wild stock" in Europe so no birds can have originated from
it.

Care to elaborate if
you know of any information, whether the above is untrue? That is evidence
not guesswork!

Do your own reading and stop making a fool of yourself.

Cor! an Angus argument when you don't have an answer:-0

You claimed that you had "evidence". You don't. All the evidence there
is points to the English origin of all the Ruddy Ducks in Europe,
including all those which have reached Spain, some of which have managed
to hybridise with White-headed, while others have been shot by the
Spanish before they could. If you have any *evidence* to the contrary,
then please produce it as I'm sure it would be of considerable interest.

There IS, and never has been any "proof" that UK RD's ever got to
Spain. Considering how easy it is to verify, it's strange the
CONservation hooligans never found any proof!

You're a liar and a fake Ogilvie. No wonder the RSPB dropped you!
