Perhaps he would like to read this - with an open mind, of course.

and reflect especially on this extract:
Among the plants that have been driven out of the valley where the
knotweed has become established are bluebells, thrift, sea campion,
kidney vetch, yellow flag and purple loosestrife. Similarly, the
knotweed monoculture drives out dippers, grey wagtails and Daubenton
bats.
Mr Ford added: ?When you have cleared away a patch of knotweed you
find that pretty well everything else has been destroyed. Nothing can
compete with it. It?s the most pernitious plant there is.?
And don't suggest, Angus, that the knotweed will get into some kind of
"balance" with the native wildlife, because the only "balance" that
happens is complete exclusion of the latter.
Of course it will. All species will adjust in accordance with their
habitat an JK is no exception. It seems it has reached its optimum in
the valley you mention. There are always winners and losers.
BTW you could say the same about humans.
In one way or another nature will control JK and us. Neither can
expand forever without something happening.

All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
