Man's interference led to the mink being in the UK in the first place.

Quite so. Although certain conservationists have helped;-) Ruddy Ducks!
According to you!

Man's carelessness, plus deliberate releases by Angus's AR friends, led
to the mink escaping into the wild. Mink have done huge damage to
indigenous wildlife, not just water voles, but wiping out whole colonies
of nesting terns and gulls, and so it is both logical and legitimate
that, where man can, he should try and get rid of the mink to the
benefit of the voles and birds.

Have they? Probably, but I doubt their presence is not as detrimental
than pollution to our environment by humans. Especially the pollution
that is increasingly produced by mechanical traffic that is unseen,
run-off etc & pumped into our waterways.

I assume you also know of any scientific study that does purport to the
W Vole demise due to the mink increase?

Let me know, if you do.

Raft invented by a senior executive of the GCT - which stands for the
"Game Conservancy Trust".

Guess what they do? ((-

The name speaks for itself.

These organisations will do anything to show how kind and considerate
they are. It wouldn't surprise me if they sent out their executives
to help little old ladies to cross busy streets :-)
