You are confusing health with wealth ;-).
I am simply making the point that having a financial interest in
education, which a teacher does, has no relevance whatsoever to this
argument.
You forgot IMHO. It is relevant in the way explained.
and I'm amazed that
you think you can make some kind of point by saying so.
I'm amazed you can be so narrow in your interpretation to ensure it
fits your own view of the world but then that's politics for you.
Interpretation of what? You are flitting randomly from one point to
another; whenever I answer anything you say you reply with some
non-sequitur and I am finding it very hard to ascertain what it is you
are trying to say.
Seems pretty simple. You say business has no legitimate interest/stake in
education. I say it has. I show that you are adopting a politically biased
stance based on your own perception as a teacher which appears to be
saying only teachers have a legitimate interest in education. Your own
financial interest in providing services is not a lot different to a
business providing them. You or the business gains financially for
providing a service. If you don't understand this, its probably because
you don't want to.
To you perhaps, it seems perfectly rational to me. Again you don't
appear to be able to take an objective view of what is politics and
what is rational. That to me is more dangerous in an educator than
business taking an interest in education.
Here we go again. I have never said anything about business taking an
interest in education. My complaint was about business having the right
to a stake in education.
You are splitting hairs with semantics. In the words of New Labour, there
are many stakeholders. Business is one with a legitimate interest in
taking a stake alongside teachers, parents, students and other
organisations and individuals.
You seem to be an intelligent person, but this discussion is like
fighting the tendrils of a particularly nebulous fog.
My IQ is around 140 based on several independent measurements. I believe
the reason for the fog is that its a political issue and political beliefs
tend to create fog.
