Leaving pupils out of awards, refusing them trips, refusing them
access to facilities - that sort of thing.
How is that using a child as a weapon? Maybe the child did not actually
do anything to warrant an award?
No, Kath. I agree with Kitty on this. I have had the misfortune to work
with "colleagues" years ago who behaved like this. I remember one who
got at another teacher by picking on her sons when they were in his
class. And certainly I can remember children being left out of awards,
treats, etc. because their faces didn't fit. Sometimes this caused
distress to other teachers who knew it was going on. If you have never
encountered people like this yet, Kath, consider yourself lucky!
