No.

I suggest you find the designated training bodies that cover the area you are interested in- there is a list on the DFES website- and contact them. They will know which schools in the area not only have GTPs but also follow the scheme properly.

Thanks. I was just unaware if funding would only be provided to people living in that area - perhaps where one had paid council tax for example. All the web sites I'd found say *your* local authority - I've yet to see one that mentions the LA where you want to teach.

Also, remember you'll be "in a classroom from day 1" so you don't really want a school where your main role is "crowd control". Like all teachers you need to learn how to teach and how to control a class, how hard you find these depends on you but it makes sense to try and give yourself a sporting chance with one of them at the beginning ;-)

Well one of my reasons for thinking of doing it in East London is that it might look better on a CV to had done it in an area where crown control is likely to have been a large element.

I have a fair amount of teaching at university, where the crowd control element is virtually zero of course.
