Facilitator always gives me the impression of someone with nothing to
give themselves. Teaching to me is an art form. I teach the children
and they teach me. We are both learning in an atmosphere hopefully that
is conducive to learning. I know the teachers you are talking about
they are the ones who should get out of teaching fast because they do
the profession a great disservice by continuing. They stay in the job
because they are afraid they will have nothing else to do jobwise if
they leave and the children suffer as a result and let's face it here
they are the important ones in all of this. Teachers role is important
yes but it is the audience that is more important. there has to be a
symbiotic relationship between the two. You cannot separate the two or
make them separate entities. Therefore facilitation is not for me.
Co-learners maybe.
I take my hat off to you. Thank you for understanding and promoting
the essentials of human respect and mutual development.
You will both enjoy and be 'all fired up' by a book by Sue Gerhardt
called "Why Love Matters". It came out about a year ago. It is
essential reading for teachers, parents and politicians who all need to
know the way the human mind learns and prospers with the right
conditions in place.
Good luck in your work - your pupils are extremely fortunate.
Who?
It would be helpful to quote a bit of what you are replying to.--
