Help! Technical support needied!
I'm now on a one-hour free access pooter session in Hampstead library,In your position, first I would check internet connection settings.
so I'll return later to see if there is any Staffroom wisdom about the
promble.
Tools, Internet Options, and ensure 'never dial a connection' is set and
that I did not have Proxy Server ticked in LAN Settings.
Then I would open a command prompt (type CMD into the 'run' dialogue
box) and type ipconfig /all and look for my device to check that there
was a DNS IP address showing.
Whilst you have the command prompt open you might also try pinging a
site to see if anything happens (eg. at the prompt, type in ping
208.80.152.2)
Also whilst at the command prompt, it might be worth rebooting the
wireless connection, by typing in:
ipcongid /release
then
ipconfig /renew
and you could also try
ipconfig /flushdns
then
ipconfig /registerdns
