Best blot that, then yer ead.
I actually sat there waiting for the blood to start trickling down my
face, but it didn't.
How I ended up sitting is a mystery.
I landed on my head, hands and knees, but ended up sitting with my
foot in the paint - so at some stage I turned over, but don't remember
doing it.
Have you put the video on YouTube yet?
It sounds a bit like when the step ladder I was climbing with a box of
books to go into the loft decided to topple over sideways. It all seemed
to happen in slow motion and you realise that something unpleasant is
going to happen to you. I landed in a heap and must have put my arm out
to stop myself because when I looked at my wrist it was decidedly the
wrong shape. Oddly, it didn't hurt, but I thought I's better get myself
to the horse piddle, where they told me I had broken both of the bones
in my wrist, and put me in plaster. This was at about 10.30 at night and
I was more concerned about how I was going to get to school in the
morning. The doctor told me to forget that and report to my GP instead,
who signed me off work for several weeks and told me I must not go into
school on any account as it would likely get knocked.
As it turned out, I went back to work early as I was so bored at home.
This was before t'tinternet and I couldn't drive anywhere and couldn't
do any of the millions of jobs that were waiting for circular tuits.
It's amazing how many things you can't do with just one hand. Even
something simple like cleaning your teeth or tearing off a *** of loo
paper. Forget trying to open a jar of coffee!
Now that the immediate shock is past, I expect you're starting to hurt.
