whether you have a message or not. I want to know without having to
touch the thing. It's particularly exasperating when someone leaves a
message because your line is already engaged (or when you leave a
message for someone else under the same circumstances) as you don't
realise a message has been left until next time you use/check the phone.
But if you are chatting on the phone to someone else when the caller
calls, they cannot use the answer phone, shurely? Whereas they can leave
a massage on 1571.
