A riot of colour

<The Gerbils appear, chattering noisily and pulling varying lengths of
coloured webbing-ribbon behind them. A few long lengths are hung
between the no-longer-used curtain rails and the slightly wobbly
ceiling-mounted light fitting, with outliers leading to the hatstand
in the corner and the hook on the door jamb where the C*******s
decorations are always anchored.

Smaller lengths of ribbon are woven into small hammocks and suspended
below the main web. The Gerbils have new homes!

The appearance is an improvement on the patchy yellow-brown ceiling
which clearly hadn't been painted since before we banned smoking in
here. One can't help wondering whose maypole has been raided...>
