In my area the pavements are old town paving slabs, you know the big bugger
size? Really old victorian ones? A few years ago someone started pinching
them for patio slabs. He would drive to a destination in a white van (not
disimilar to a council van) and set up a little cordon with a mate, both
were wearing yellow jackets. No-one questioned them as they thought they
were council workers. They took whole pavements at a time.
