How do you solve this problem
If Sally can paint a house in 4 hours, and John can paint the same
house in 6 hour, how long will it take for both of them to paint the
house together?
Sally paints 1/4 of a house in 1 hour
John paints 1/6 of a house in 1 hour
Both of them paint 1/4 of a house + 1/6 of a house in 1 hour (60 mins)
=> 5/12 of a house in 60 mins
A whole house (1 x house) takes (60 x 12) / 5 mins
=> 720/5 mins
=> 144 mins
=> (2 x 60) +24 mins
=> 2 hours and 24 minutes
