Thanks Brian (and others who hinted at part of the problem), I'm quite
a maths novice and I didn't understand how vastly different sq
measurements are, when converting, as opposed to normal (non-sq)
measurements.
I'm still unsure how to find out how many circles with an area of
7850nm2 will fit into a circle with the area of 196250000000nm2. in my
novice way I am assuming that I would divide 196250000000nm2 by
7850nm2, but as I am dealing with squared units I wonder if a simple
division is inapplicable? Furthermore, I wonder about the diamond-like
gaps between the cicrles (the circles are not overlapping). Maybe I
should find out the area for a 100mn x 100nm square, and then see how
many squares I can fit in the 500,000nm diameter circle, and then maybe
do the same with circles instead of squares, and with the two results
perhaps I could work out the answer somehow??... by finding how much
excess space surrounds a circle when and number of circles are fitted
side by side (not overlapping) in a grid type pattern.
I'm working with nanometer units, and when they are 'squared', if that
is the correct term to show area, I have used '2' which I hope is a
valid expression and makes sense.
Hope someone has a simple answer for this, and if you are using
mathmatical terms or symblos that a layman would not understnd I would
be grateful if you could explain them.
