This is bang on the mark. One example: I tutored a girl who was
being taught using Geometer's Sketchpad. No problem, it's fine
software, but she didn't get the main ideas. Not having it available,
but having all previous tets and notes available, I was able to go
over them and see where difficulties occurred. Also, I did have
available an old tin-can geometry set. Using that, I was able to lead
her through those difficult areas easily.
Suggestion to Mark: Get a good tutor. Money more wisely spent, I
think. Don't espect any miracle, but do take the best option. Also,
don't blame the teacher if all does go well, for a tutor has a great
advantage of one-on-one.
