Hi All
I'm resurrecting a thread that was going on in May 04. Some people where
asking about how to become a qualified electrician as an alternative to IT.
I did and have been asked many times since how it's done, so I'm putting on
some 1 day training courses for anyone who wants to know how.

If you have any specific questions please post to this group and I'll answer
in the thread.
How long would it likely take to achieve accreditation, assuming you're a
quick study?
its a four year apprentiship, with practical exams.
Without appearing too gloomy, my understanding was that employers are
reluctant to take on trainees/apprentices when they can pick up a
Polish/Latvian/<whatever> qualified bod off the street!
i have no idea why someone would want to go from IT ancd onto a building
site... Fucking mad believe me, ive done it.
Cold winters, back ache, idiot sun reading builders as companions.
Bugger that. :-)
