Used to be around 20% in the dear dead days beyond recall. Ask them to tell you,
a decent agent should.
Also try to develop the attitude that that is *not* your money. You should
concentrate on
(1) getting a rate which is acceptable to you from the agent.
(2) make sure you are on the same sort of margin as anyone else on the site.
Agin in the DDDBR there were agents who would be charging the client the same
rate for two different people, but taking 20% from the "savvy" old contractor,
and 50% from the newbie, on the grounds that the latter were an unknown
quantity. That's entirely unfair.
