Further to last posting:
Doing some research led me to billington.co.tw and downloaded the 'correct'
driver file for the BCM2035 device. Writing on the chip reads BCM2035SKFB.
During installation of this software I saw 'Updating Firmware' flash by.
Sadly, but, by now, not unexpectedly, there was no difference; still no
connection to phone. (the downloaded Nokia Suite works fine in the laptop)
The only useful thing was a PDF file about installing and icon colours
showing what they mean. Back to the little CD in the packet for another go
only to find that the USB module will not work now as the 'software does not
have a licence for this Bluetooth device'; no 'Update Firmware' flashes by
this time.
Also, as a side issue, the 90deg swivel aerial is not connected to anything
unless, at this frequence, the case is part of the aerial. If not it is just
cosmetic and 'looks good'.
I have sent a couple of emails to the A1 Computer Shop but I don't they are
about at midnight and 6:30am. I have asked if they have a file to put the
firmware back to what it was and any ideas about the none connection to the
phone.
At £8 odd I am not going to moan much about it but will be a lot more
careful about cheap stuff as it is so time consuming if it does not work.
However, the IDE to USB lead looks a good buy; how useful mine has been in
sorting out problem computers. Think positive, look on the bright side, it
is getting warmer and life is good; enjoy it while you can.
Regards.
