After my iiyama TFT blew up following a power cut, I decided to invest
in a small UPS. Misco are doing a bargain UPS here:

At £17 plus VAT. I ordered 3, only problem is they charge an extra £5
to ship them as they are bulky, anyway I ended up for 3 at less than
£25 incl VAT.

Also from Insight at £18.79 inc VAT. Don't know what the postage would be.

Anyone know how long the battery life is in these, what they are and how
expensive they are to replace?

Biggest problem with these is the power rating - it's insufficient for any
modern PC, let alone one with peripherals attached.

For modern PC's you really need on with a rating of at least 650W, otherwise
you're likely to burn out the battery the first time it goes on standby.
