After replacing Dave with a small shell script on Saturday 25 Feb 2006
01:47, the following appeared on stdout:
I thought I was the only one who had delivery issues with ebuyer.
Nope.
open box items for new,
A client of mine ordered a (new, not open box or blowout deal) wireless
modem router from them and ended up with a return which was DOA.
Particularly embarrassing was the fact that I told him exactly what to
order. We ended up sending it back and getting a Netgear from Micro
Direct.
rma at cost to myself with no refund.
eBuyer "extra value" memory? Never again! Packed in a Jiffy bag and
thrown in the post and they expect it to work after Postman Pat has
trodden on it and played football with it? Good grief!
Item missing from order, with them weight testing a completely wrong
item (not even in the delivery!!)
Never had this one. What they have done to me in the past is this:
Faulty modem router, sent back under warranty. They haven't got any of
that type left so they replace the item, not with a modem router, but
with whatever happens to be the same price in the same category, which
ended up being a Safecom 802.11 router without a modem. Luckily, I had
a spare modem router for the client, and I needed an 802.11 access
point, but this is totally unacceptable IMHO.
Priority express order (when they feel
like delivering it)
Oh, yes. "We are currently experiencing a particularly high volume of
orders at present and are short-staffed." Not our problem really, is
it? We pay for delivery by a specified date. If they can't offer that
service due to ANY problems, especially ones that they are aware of
beforehand, they should remove the options from the site. Problem
solved.
I will post a full list of their ***-up's when
the registered post letter gets posted.
This, I think, is going to be a rather long post :-)
