Agreed about the software - my problem is that I have a total of 6 units on 6 sites attached to linux-based servers and so I will have to visit each site to shut things down and remove the units - I have asked our eBuyer business account manager (yes, really!) to try and arrange advance replacement so I can swap out the UPSs rather than make 2 visits and leave the servers without protection in between.
How exactly do you _get_ a business account manager? We order a fairly hefty amount of kit, but currently only a few percent of that comes from eBuyer, purely because our main supplier has an account manager, and eBuyer denied that they offer such a service when we asked them. If they did have someone we could complain at to get things done, they'd get a hell of a lot more of our business.
They will have denied having them, it only recently the new owners decided to set the department up. They headhunted a guy from Insight to setup & run the department, his first recommendation was to close the department down until the warehouse could actually ship the correct items. As they still can't do that, if you have a manager you're okay, if you want one they deny all knowledge. Once they are in the new warehouse everything is supposed to change so they can't make mistakes. We all shall see, however if you want to spend mega bucks with them I suggest you try an enote, somebody who can actually be bothered to read may pick it up. .
