Kudos to eBuyer for efficiently following through on the recall - it is catalogued as an eBuyer product. Also for enabling me to switch to a UPS product that (I hope) has more user-friendly management software.
Agreed about the software - my problem is that I have a total of 6 units on 6 sites attached to linux-based servers and so I will have to visit each site to shut things down and remove the units - I have asked our eBuyer business account manager (yes, really!) to try and arrange advance replacement so I can swap out the UPSs rather than make 2 visits and leave the servers without protection in between.

They headhunted a guy from Insight to setup & run the department, his first recommendation was to close the department down until the warehouse could actually ship the correct items. ...
