My understanding is that it depends on how old the faulty one was.
For example, if your one went TU 11 months into a 12 month guarantee
period, it doesn't seem unreasonable that it's replaced with one
that's also approaching 12 months old.
OTOH, if was only a month old that would be totally unreasonable.
Missing cables: Did the original cables go back with the faulty
router? If they did, complain like hell.
