If I switch off my Tungsten E, it switches back on again shortly
afterwards, and the auto-off often doesn't work. This used to
happen occasionally, but now it happens repeatedly, particularly if
it is moved (eg putting it down on a table will cause it to come on,
or tapping the back lightly).
If it really does come on in response to movement then it sounds like
a dodgy contact, check all the buttons and get a can of compressed air
from somewhere like an electronics shop and try blowing all the dust
out of it.
Otherwise, back up, do a hard reset, see if the problem is still there
and then start adding all your stuff back in.
I had a similar problem with my old Tungsten E. The on/off switch is pretty
flimsily mounted. My guess is that it's been pushed out of place and some
part of the body is shorting the contacts on the board. You really need to
ask someone to open it up for you and take a look - or do it yourself.
To open it undo the four obvious screws and then insert a knife blade
between the back and the black plastic, and prize the back off.
