Thanks for the idea, and FileZ is a really great file manager that I had not
seen before. Unfortunately, as with "File Prog" mentioned above, which is
the file manager I already had, as soon as I land on even the file name of
the offending photo the palm locks up - so there is no opportunity to delete
the file concerned.

Looks like zap the Palm and reinstall.....
