before you do anything else. When plugged in, a half-working iPhone

happily back up its half-working state over the top of your

working backup. Those files are in ~/Library/Application
Support/MobileSync/Backup

Second, don’t leave it until after you make the above mistake to
realise
that your computer’s daily backup (in my case, Time Machine) hasn’t
been
backing up for six weeks. Check it once in a while.

Did this end up inside the CrashPlan backup round here?

Nope. Just photos and documents.

I know I'm
adding my MobileSync folder to the backup plan now...

I might do the same.
