I'd suspect more likely when viewing images on the iPad it just uses an
embeded jpeg preview & won't do anything at all with the RAW file. Could
be completely wrong though.
I dont use the version of raw with the jpeg embedded.
All RAW files have a small embedded JPEG (approx 2MP), the camera itself
uses it to display the review on the rear screen, it's also what you see
when you first import the pictures onto the computer etc.
I've got no idea why people bang on about the RAW+JPEG mode, seems like
a waste of memory card space, if you want JPEG copies the computer can
create them in minutes once back home...
