If you mean turning on SSL etc then yes. In any case the setting are the same as for Thunderbird and that works.

I've just tried checking the accounts individually and the GMail account works fine, it just the VM accounts that cause the problem.

If it doesn't improve it will be time to kick them in to touch I think.

What does Mail's connection doctor say about VM?
