Umm.
The only way to use a dictaphone `directly' via a computer is to access
the data on it, and the only way to do that (from what I've seen) is to
plug it in, have it treated as an external HDD by the host computer, and
drag files off it.
Understood. I was thinking it was more to do with the computer being
able to access the data_and_process_it (Windows) or not (Mac), rather
than accessing the files as files (like any other mass storage
device).
Like some mobiles I've played with, you can access some bits of it's
storage (pictures, video, music etc) from a computer but to get at
others (text messages / phonebook) you need an app, and not just any
phone app, the one specifically for that model, range or make.
