Firefox 3.5 Woes

The latest version of FireFox (3.5) is causing me a problem.

In Firefox 3.1 I could select a single line or a table e.g. of search
results from Ancestry or the results of a broadband speed test from
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/, and Copy, then Paste into an Excel
spreadsheet, and it appeared as a line or table. No hyperlinks,
graphics, fancy formatting or other problems.

If I do this in 3.5, a single line copied from Ancestry results in a
table with a lot of data from a pop-up from the first item added in, odd
unwanted graphics and hyperlinks (which do not work, because although I
am logged in to Ancestry, it thinks I'm not). A sngle line copied from
the Broadband speed test results appears as a single hyperlink, with all
the data in the line in one cell and the (notional?) tabs replaced by
spaces.

A table of Ancestry search results appear as a table, but with
hyperlinks at each end of the line, which again do not work, and
peculiar graphics I cannot easily get rid of. The Broadband search
results do appear as a respectable table but with hyperlinks copied for
the first entry in each line.

In each case, the Excel table appears with Wrap Text set for the cells
(which I don't want).

Fortunately, Table2Clipboard seems to work much as before, except that
Wrap Text is on for the data pasted into Excel.. At least I can turn
this off before going any further, so I can format the table to the
selected column widths. But how long will this last?

Does anyone know how to get Firefox 3.5 to revert to the simpler
behaviour of 3.1 for Copy?

Does anyone prefer the new behaviour?

John.
