No, the inevitability occurs about 2 secs after you use Windows for

Only if you were lucky enough to get it to install without problems
in the first place. I'd argue that inevitability occurs at the first
BSOD (usually 2 secs after you've undone the shrinkwrap lol.

You need help from a professional. Seriously, I can't remember when I
last saw saw a BSOD. The last time I saw a computer having issues with
anything was yesterday morning on a Sony Vaio a mate bought ages ago
from PCW on a managers special (read, refurbed crap) but has just got
round to using it. I had done all the updates and installed FF, OO etc
and went to install iTunes and it just froze up. He backed it this
morning and bought a Tosh. [1]

Makes you wonder why we continue to torchure ourselves with it lol.

Because it works and because you don't generally see questions like
"I'm running Windows, what webcam, USB Microscope, USB Voice recorder,
scanner, phone, printer, Mobile BB dongle, GPS etc can I buy that's
*likely* to talk to my computer". Ok, it's getting better with OSX but
still not 'good' (IMHO of course, other views and requirements will
vary).

It's really quite nice to be able to go into any high street computer
shop / store and just choose what *you* want and be fairly confident
your choice will be supported on your OS (Windows). AND that all the
features work and not have to trawl the net for 'alternative' drivers
or suffer an older version or cut down feature set.

Guess windows users must be all masachists lol

I'd say we are the opposite. ;-)

[1] Ironically they have 'Mac money', he drives a Bentley Continental
and she's got a Porsche Cayenne for running the kids to school. Can
you get a 17", C2D, 2Ghz, 3G Ram, 250G Mac laptop new for £500 out of
interest?

p.s. He uses GoToMyPc to access his Windows machine at work.

"You can use a Mac with an Internet connection to access your host PC.
However, the computer that you are accessing, your host PC, must be a
Windows PC"

Luckily it is, but another example of McRestrictions.
