Sadly, on the Net (and in Real Life <tm>), it's what pays for most of
the services we use- search engines as the most obvious case.

I don't much like advertising, but unless it's on TV, where it actually
breaks up and ruins programmes, I've learnt to squint away. And I reckon
that's easy enough on a computer screen.
