Re: Missing user account

One of the user accounts is missing - there's no home folder than I can
see and the user name is not listed in System Prefs.

When I try to re-create it I get a message saying that there is already
a user with that name.

A little hunting showed a top-level folder called 'Desktop' that get
info said belongs to the missing user. I deleted that and rebooted,
which made no difference.

Any ideas how I can get rid of the ghost and re-establish the user
account?

Tell poor Jane, or whoever it was,
that from now on she is Jane2, and create that?
