For discussion and help on Microsoft's popular operating system.
Yet another example of the widespread ignorance of the difference
between 'popular' and 'common'.
But in the context given, still pretty accurate. (Reading it as
'Popular' not Microsoft's Popular .. as I don't believe most people
care who makes it or care that it's not considered good by a
minority).
No, it's completely inaccurate. I know you move in a tiny bubble of
reality where no-one has viruses, everyone's PC works flawlessly and
without maintenance, and only senile old men prefer their eMac to a
proper computer, but almost without exception, everyone I know who uses
PCs complains about what rubbish computers are.
You're right they don't care who makes it, they just care that it's a
pile of crap. I don't even mention Macs to them, because either they
have no choice in the matter because their PC is supplied by their
employer, or they bought it themselves and therefore ignored my advice
in the first place. Most people think computers are unreliable,
confusing and inconsistent, because their only experience is with
Windows.
It's not popular, it's common. It's like saying the chunky great
three-pin power plugs are "popular" in the UK.
2) It doesn't *matter* as long as any wiring doesn't interfere with
air flow or fans etc.
Of course it doesn't matter, like there's no difference between my
crayon scribbles at kindergarten and the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Aesthetics only matter to people with a sense of aesthetics, and as
you've said many times ad nauseam, you can't see the point of art.
