I'm with you there too, although the gamepad method may be a better
idea, I don't find it easier, and very often find I just use keyboard,
or mouse where it's usable.
teammates as you are F'd as you can't use any key that is also used
for movement.
I used to confuse some players by running circles round them and
whilst typing to them including said movement keys. ;-)
Mouse configured for look L-R U-D, fire, alt fire, reload and weapon
select. Held in right hand as usual.
Joystick configured for F, B, L, R, jump, duck, use, dash etc.
There was (is) not a hope in hell I could do all those things at all,
let alone reliably (many actions simultaneously) using the keyboard,
as I have said before, I'm not a typist.
Horses for courses etc.
Indeed, although I would say that *generally* Mac users aren't such big
gamers anyway. It certainly applies to me, although I do play some
games, they are usually a few minutes of distraction, rather than an
afternoon event :-)

p.s. I wonder why they haven't, after all these years released a
keyboard interfaced RC Transmitter? Just think how much faster the top
boys would be with one! ;-)
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a RC based controller some years ago
now, might have been back the the Atari days even.
