Hi Guys,
I have been trying to configure gmail in my Apple Mail and have a few
issues.
I have the general folders all configured now so that the Sent, Drafts and
Trash folders sync with GMail.
However the issue I have is with the rules at the moment. Currently they
seem to be getting ignored. I used to have several rules set up with Spam
Sieve being one of them the rest being used just to sort my mail as it comes
in.
Do I need to configure these on the google server or something? or should I
just delete the rules and re insert them to see if that fixes them?
Google IMAP and Mail is a real mess, or at least it is here.
Google recommends not using third party spam filtering with their own as
well. I'd recommend having a look at the IMAP setup pages on Google, and
check through the settings they recommend, otherwise you'll end up with
duplicated mailboxes and message all over the shop.
Seems a nightmare! Although think i have figured it out for some reason if
you set the sorting of mail into folders that exist on the google server not
my mail box it works pretty well. Its when I try to get it to move it to a
folder on my mac that it has major issues and just creates duplicates
