As described in another post, UKonline have terminated one of theirDepends on the OS, I'm sure I've had a LC476 running on a TCP/IP network
dialup services without notice, which leaves several of my friends
stranded without an Internet connection. They all have low usage
requirements at present (but might browse more if it were not charged by
the minute).
One friend has a PC which may already have an ethernet connection, so
it would connect straight to a router. He is now elderly and easily
confused, so he will not be able to cope with any significant change in
hardware or the way things appear to the user.
Another friend is using an LC475. If there was no way to connect it to
broadband, I could probably change it for a G3.
which is all you need to get on broadband.
The third friend is on a long circuit from a rural exchange in Cornwall,If BT can supply it, then any ADSL supplier who uses their circuits can
where any Broadband connection will be severely limited (and may only be
possible through BT). She was using an LC475 on dialup, but I have
recently given her a G3 which should be satisfactory for broadband
supply it. BT would be my last choice.
Has anyone got any particular recommendations for a good, cheap,
no-frills service?

£9.74 for 1GB, £11.70 for 3GB
they've consistently compared well with Zen (who have been the kings of
quality ADSL for the last 10 years)

although there user base (and sample there) is small.
There £25 modem is USB, so you'd need a different router,

The first two may seem a strange choice "wireless?" but they are better
specced, include 4 port switches and the same price as those without.
Just disable the wireless and fold the aerial down out the way.
They won't mention mac support, or they might, but it'll be to do with
what phone support deal with, or the software on the CD. They can all be
setup via the web interfaces so that shouldn't be an issue.
