site (yet) but if it were me I'd Ghost Vista off and see how XP gets

It's an Asus Nova P242/P244. Not sure which one.
I've got the software I'll be using working under Vista so I'll stick
with it for now. Plus I've got the file sharing working without a
password, which is good, so MacOSX can connect quite nicely now[0].
Not the fastest computer in the world but seems to be up to the job,
which is the main thing.

[0] the lack of a password is so the machine can just boot up and log in
by itself without requiring keyboard interaction. Under Vista you can do
this but you need to set some options in the security area to do with
file sharing. Can't remember what they were now but they were quite
obvious once I started looking.
