Re: Paging the Hackingtosh builders

Well I can tell you what works for me, Wifi, Bluetooth, Sound, Graphics MAC
OS 10.5.5 all RAM available.

Any Quad Core Intel CPU, I use Q6600 but you can only really get them on
eBay now there are alternatives and the rest of the hardware as follows.

Q6600 2.4ghz @ 3.3ghz (but you don't have to overclock adds complexity)
8GB Celenade value RAM from http://www.7dayshop.com was £ 75 inc DEL ex VAT
ASUS P5Q Pro (needs a BIOS update which you can get here
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=124693 just put it on CD
and update from within BIOS flash utility also use that guide as a reference
8800GT 512MB any will do
Hitachi SATA 500GB Hard Drive
Optiac DVD+-RW SATA Drive
Antec 900 Case
Corsair 520W HX Series PSU
Zyxel G202 USB Wifi Adapter (can get on eBay cheaply)
Bluetooth Adapter from eBay £ 2.27
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=280272889329

All the parts bought from dabs.com in July, except G202 with I got free with
Broadband and Bluetooth adapter. I used the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD for
Intel/AMD, I tried iAktos but it didn't allow me to install the Vanilla
Kernal and the one that worked didn't support graphics properly, Kalyway
allowed me to install 9.2.0 then update to 9.5.0 later. The Vanilla Kernal
is the unhacked one.

You can get all the drivers for the P5Q Pro at the insanelymac forum link
above, it took me about a week to get things up and running properly and
dual booting with Vista, my system scores 297.81 in xbench which is
comparable to a Apple Mac running at over 3ghz.

The G202 adapter mainly works except if you quit the WLAN utility that comes
with it, you have to replug it to use again, if you connect to broadband and
stay connected untill you reboot this is not any problem and even then its
only minor (you can get some that work 100% but I don't know which as I had
a G202 already) you can the latest G202 drivers for Mac OS at insanelymac
they are 4.5.10.0

The bluetooth adapter works perfectly without any drivers.
