Definitely works on the Air, I sometimes end up running so low on
iPhone juice that I plug it into the Air to recharge, with everything
tucked into my laptop bag.
Hang on, I'll have a go with a MacBook - yep, works there too. Oh, an
interesting detail:
If you have mains power connected to the sleeping laptop, you can just
plug it in with the laptop closed; the laptop will wake then go to
sleep again a few seconds later, but the phone will carry on charging.
Without power, you have to wake the lappie, plug in the iPhone, close
and sleep. Charging will continue.
Just tried the iBook again, it actually stops charging as soon as the
iBook goes to sleep. Power adapter or not. I wonder if the USB ports
work differently?
I guess so. I've not got any G4 hardware around to test on, all my kit
is Intel C2d.
