They are not making you do it yourself are they?

The amount of chasing I've done, it feels like it.

The sodding operation I've been waiting for for months has suddenly come
up - with six days notice! So I have to sort out all sorts of stuff
before Thursday because I'm having a general anaesthetic and will
probably take a couple of weeks to recover.

Oh joy.

My sentiments exactly.

I really should get a wireless/wired router, like the one Jon mentioned,
so that I can faff on the laptop in bed and watch things on the web.
Need to sort that pronto then.

If you are in bed and it isn't far from the router, you just need a long
ethernet lead. You only need wireless if you are moving about.
Well, either that or you have pets with sharp pointy teeth that love
nothing better than leads.

It's about 35 feet from the router/iMac to my bed.

And I'd still need a router anyway as theres nowhere to plug in the
laptop ethernet cable, if they even come in 35 feet lenghts.

Oh hold on, I could plug it in instead of the Mac I guess. But the
length is an issue.
