Maybe I had missed it but I was surprised to note that anyone signing up
for a Mobile Broadband tariff in PC World can get a fairly hefty
discount on the laptop itself.
I think you missed it then. Anyone signing up for mobile broadband can
get some money of the initial purchase price in exchange for a fairly
hefty overcharging of broadband, ending up consting considerably more
than both would cost individually.
If that is what you mean, then yes.
Almost makes me want to buy one from there when they next get updated as
the discount on laptop won't be far off the cost of the broadband bit.
Only if by 'far off' you mean 'in excess of'.
I must admit to being fairly horrified how much they were charging for
those things, and the fact they are signing you up for 24 month
contracts.
You might want to take another look at those prices...
I just did. They improved their prices to the point where they are at a
break even point, in the knowledge that they will get cheaper in the
future.
So yes, better deal now, will seem not such a great deal in two years
time.
Depends whether ypu are already in the market for mobile broadband and a
new mac I guess ;-)
